Step 2. Contouring the female shape

Here I have drawn out some various poses so you can view see how the contour ( orange line ) can take the shape for the overall body. As you can see, the female form can be greatly influenced by the arch of her back. This is what gives her form a more delicate and agile look to that of a man's. You want to make your contour a very contolled smooth line. Use this line as a balancing tool when filling in the shape to get the female proportions correct.

Some things to remember :

When starting out, just try simple countours for practice.
Once you get the hang of drawing a smooth delicate line
try more complicated curves, and try to create the female
structure around it.
